The 2008 Volkswagen Jetta GL comes with 2.0L I4 engine delivering 115 HP and 5-speed manual transmission.

The 2008 Volkswagen Jetta GLS sedan has the same engine specs as the GL, but is also offered with a more powerful 1.9L TDI 90 HP 4-speed automatic transmission engine.

The 2008 Volkswagen Jetta GLI comes standard with a 2.8L 200 HP VR6 6-speed manual transmission engine.

While the top of the line 2008 Volkswagen Jetta GLX comes standard with a 2.8L 200 HP VR6 5-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission.

All 2008 Volkswagen Jetta sedans come standard with a foof-mounted amplified flexible black whip antenna and fully galvanized sheet metal anti-corrosion exterior. All 2008 Jetta models also come with body color door handles and energy absorbing side impact door padding.

For visibility the 2008 Volkswagen Jetta offers daytime running Lights (DRL). Upon start-up of vehicle headlights are on but with reduced power parking lights and taillights remain off. To engage all lights with full power the light switch must be turned to on position. Halogen headlamps with clear, light weight, chip-resistant polycarbonate lenses. Headlights-on warning tone, upon opening of driver's door when ignition key is removed.
